Fuji Bear is the first in my Back to School Friends Collection. I remember thinking that the first day of class was coming around the corner (not for me,thank goodness… I’ve done my fair share of studying and I’m all done with that!) and wouldn’t it be fun to create a small collection of dolls in their back to school clothes? I felt that his apple sweater would be perfect and it is what inspired his name. That, and Fujis are my all time favorite apples! The size of this doll was also very appealing to me. It wasn’t so big so I was able to finish it fairly quickly, and it wasn’t too small where I couldn’t add little details. A lot of my subsequent dolls are very similar in size to Fuji. I also had a lot of fun making Fuji’s backpack. It’s removable and you can really put things in it, although it doesn’t hold too much! It just adds a touch of cuteness and completes his school outfit!
