Bernie Bear was originally intended to be a squirrel. I had trouble making the snout look just right and my experiments with crocheting with eyelash yarn (I envisioned a fluffy squirrel tail) have not been successful. One day I will revisit my vision… So for now, this doll became Bernie Bear. I decided to keep him nice and simple. I wasn’t sure if people out there prefer dolls with or without clothes. I had been making a lot WITH clothes, so I decided to take a step back and just have him in a hat and boots. I did attempt a scarf but I was unhappy with the color combinations I tried and ultimately decided that he should go without.
